Elevate – Youth Employment and Work Readiness Pathways

Elevate is a strengths-based programme supporting rangatahi aged 15–24 who are not currently engaged in education, training or employment and live in the wider Eastern Southland area.

We help rangatahi build confidence, strengthen life and employability skills, overcome barriers and take positive steps towards employment, vocational training or further education.

Our team works alongside each young person to understand their strengths, goals and individual needs. Support is tailored to where they are starting from and may include a combination of group-based learning, one-to-one guidance and practical assistance.

Elevate – Youth Employment Pathways

Elevate offers two main pathways:

Work Readiness Essentials
A structured course for rangatahi who need additional support before moving into employment, vocational training or further education. The course helps participants build confidence, routines, workplace behaviours and core employability skills.

Employment Navigator
Tailored one-to-one support for rangatahi who are closer to being work ready and want practical help to find and sustain employment. This may include exploring suitable opportunities, preparing applications and interviews, connecting with employers and receiving support once in work.

Across both pathways, rangatahi may also receive support with:

  • Driver licensing
  • Budgeting and financial capability
  • CVs, job applications and interview preparation
  • Workplace visits, work experience and employer connections
  • Short courses and vocational opportunities
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Ongoing mentoring and post-placement support

For 15-year-olds, Elevate support focuses on helping them re-engage in secondary education. Eligibility requirements apply.
